Meet the best riders in the world again, just a stone's throw from the Croisette!

From 6 to 8 June 2024, Cannes will once again host the International Jumping at the Hespérides stadium, after a two-year absence due to Covid. The Cannes Show Jumping is one of the most important in the world. It is a major stop on the Longines Global Champions Tour. This unmissable horse competition on Cannes' events and sporting calendar combines elegance and high-level sport. In addition, it is part of the ambitious "Cannes, capital of outdoor sport" programme launched in 2016 by David Lisnard, which aims in particular to promote the practice of sport and the organisation of quality sporting events throughout the municipality.

Jumping, an unmissable equestrian event for 39 years

The first International Jumping in Cannes was organized in 1982 in the Hespérides district. Now a must-see, it is part of a long and rich tradition of equestrian disciplines in Cannes, notably transmitted by English winterers in the nineteenth century.

Jumping is back for a 39th edition from Thursday 2 to Saturday 4 June 2022. During these three days, the best riders in the equestrian world will follow one another at the Hespérides stadium, in the Pointe Croisette sector. The Cannes stage is the seventh on the "Longines Global Champions Tour", the international equestrian show jumping competition.

In 2019, this competition brought together 120 competitors and more than 12,600 spectators, proof of its success with the public.

Encouraging the practice of sport, creating and improving sports infrastructure

This annual event is fully in line with the "Cannes, Capital of Outdoor Sport" programme launched in April 2016 by David Lisnard to encourage the people of Cannes to take part in sport.

This municipal approach is also reflected in the creation and renovation of sports facilities in all municipal districts to allow clubs and associations to benefit from sites and premises that are consistent with their activities and to improve the quality of reception for users.

Thus, the Hespérides stadium, which hosts this prestigious competition, benefits from modernization work undertaken by the municipality since 2017. The first two phases of these operations included, among other things, the creation of a new demountable synthetic pitch, an 8,600 m2 asphalt surface, a 760 m2 underground retention basin to regulate the water supply in the rainwater drain, the replacement of the field's lighting and the renovation of the multi-activity room. The third phase, which is scheduled to be delivered before the competition, includes: the renovation of the grandstand, the rehabilitation of the changing rooms, the construction of a toilet block, the construction of a club house for the resident football association (Olympique Suquétan Cannes Croisette) and the development of green space areas to enhance the site.

In addition, as every year, the City of Cannes provides logistical and financial support to the J.F.B International Horse Show association for the smooth running of this event which contributes to the international, sporting and tourist influence of Cannes and the Côte d'Azur. http://www.jumpingcannes.com/
